The 2021 20th annual MLK Unity Celebration, on January 18, will honor the legacy of Dr. King Jr. Besides dancing, singing, and speeches, it will also be a chance to get more actively involved in the community. This event is free and open to the public.

#BooksAgainstRacism Book Donation
We invite you to help enhance the OHLS student experience by ensuring that books by Black authors and about Black characters are available in the school libraries. While we currently have a number of these books, we are interested in enriching our collection. We welcome new and gently used books, so feel free to pass on a book that you have read. Please sign up for a book(s) you would be willing to donate. A bookplate with your name will be placed in the front cover as recognition of your contribution.
Thanks to Rebecca McLean and Noreen Hanlon for this initiative!
This is OH Community Reads
"This is OH Community Reads" is an initiative that aims to bring Villagers together for an evening of informal discussion of sensitive yet critical topics in modern America and the world. Our inaugural event will be a discussion of ’The Color of Law: A Forgotten History of How Our Government Segregated America’ by Richard Rothstein, led by Dr. Willie McKether. Dr. McKether, an Anthropologist by training, serves as Vice President of Diversity & Inclusion at the University of Toledo, is the founder of the Rise program at UToledo, and is deeply involved as a volunteer and board member for many organizations in the greater Toledo community.
